Tairawhiti Seawalls

Seawalls were made from 23 artists from places like south africa switzerland usa ect that all came to gisborne for a project to decorate some of the blank walls around the city with creative murals about our oceans and things affecting them (pollution ect) and created some eye catching murals for our walls around town. I picked this one to give my opinion on.

I really like this mural because of how it's so colourful and vibrant and stands out on the wall with the blue background. I think how the seal is cut into pieces shows how the ocean is cutting up our animals when they consume some of the many pieces of trash in our ocean and slowly kills them from the inside (hence the colorful blood). And just in general how the rubbish is killing seals and other sea creatures in our ocean. Maybe even how it looks like pieces of sushi could mean how we are killing animals intentionally and feeding of them?  But overall i really enjoy this art and the the creativity it shows.

Netiquette

We are learning about the do's and don'ts of netiquette.

I found it easy to copy and paste my character and write in the speech bubbles.

I found it hard to copy and paste without the bullet points.

I really enjoyed picking a background I guess?

Next time I need to try and get to publishing quicker.

My Pepeha

This is my pepeha that we made in class about a week ago. We had to learn what our river marae waka ect and write them on our piece of paper along with a background to fit our pepeha. I actually later learned that some of the things i had put down on my pepeha was wrong and i had another waka and river i did not know about at the time so yeeeeeah my actual river is waiapu and my real waka is harouta.

My Profile

My name is Kathleen. I am currently 12 years old. I go to Gisborne Intermediate School and am in year 8. I have1 brother and live with my mom, brother and grandmother, along with 2 cats. Well for me I don't think I'm good at many things. I mean I enjoy listening to music.  I love kpop (korean music), bts, memes and food. 

My challenges are probably anything sport related and social interaction. I don't like to go out much and like staying home on my phone scrolling through meme pages and listening to new kpop albums with basically any junk food. 

I don't really have that many goals for this year really because I know I would probably not follow up with them. Anyway aside from that they would have to be trying to participate more in things and read more books. 

I'd say my inspiration would be the band BTS. They always work hard and never fail to present amazing music and geographies. Another person is pewdiepie because he reviews some pretty spicy memes and because he's is not afraid to tell his audience his opinion. What I'm looking forwards to this year is probably action week and when the school year finally ends.
